Who I Saw & Who I Escorted

Comic Con came and went and amazingly it rushed by leaving me exhausted and overwhelmed.
Here is my photo memory book of the Con: *some of the below pictures are from ew.com & some are from the interweb-thingie that we all know and love*
Thursday started with Keanue Reeves & Jennifer Connelly ~ Keanue looked at me and said "Hi" when he entered the elevator as I escorted him to the Holding Area before his panel.

Mark Wahlberg walked right by me at one point, & all I gotta say is YES, he is HOTTT!!!

Hugh was also there as a surprise for the Wolverine X-Men movie.

Arriving at the front door, basically, the cast of RocknRolla arrived like all other Con Attendees at the Hall D lobby. And before you know it I'm ridding on the escalator between Jeremy Piven and Gerald Butler chatting it up and Chris "Ludacris' Bridges and Idris Elba from the Wire!

Here are all the boys:

Jeremy Piven~ gosh I do heart him a lot!

I saw this guy, he's the "main guy" from Twilight - I could only explain his hair as if he were in a Tornado while standing still.....

On Friday my dream of dreams came through... I was able to escort Joss Whedon and the cast from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day & Nathian Fillion (yes, I heart him too!).

This pic is from the Dr Horrible MySpace page and clearly they took this picture in the No Photo's Allowed Holding Room - guess the security didn't notice the picture takings....

This picture needs some slight explanation : while escorting the cast to the Dark Horse booth for a signing this crazy-ass masked man came up on my right from the crowd and started grabbing at NPH who was right next to me and I practically started to beat him with my clipboard only to find out that it was prankster Nate Fillion! His brother was keeping the black mask for Nate to put on when the moment grabbed him. The Con Services Security knew it was Nate so it was Michelle that stoped me from whacking him out of fright for myself and the guest!

Oh, and the Watchmen cast was there

as was the cast of Bones (David Boreanaz & crew), Kevin Smith, Kiefer Sutherland (24) and a bunch of other people that I never got to see personally.....

Gerard Way was also at Comic-Con promoting something or another ? ~ turns out he was also in the hotel that I was staying at & I kept seeing him around. He was probably on his way to really cool parties that I had no access to....

On Saturday I had more Joss Whedon duty! Joss Whedon was back to talk about his TV Show Dollhouse. With him he brought Eliza Dushku and Tahmoh Penikett to discuss the show.

Tahmo is currently best known as Helo on Battlestar Galactica and he was totally HOT and was really nice. He was doing double duty - he attended the Dollhouse panel and then made a quick visit to the Battlestar Galactica panel, and then he was escorted down to the Exhibitor Floor for a signing....

YUM!

Also on Saturday the Heroes Cast was there.... there was a lot of drama with getting them all into Hall H due to some unfortunately technical difficulties (some folks, like M.M., were pulling their hair out dealing with the technical difficulties).

Brendan Fraiser & Maria Bello were there to promote The Mummy:Tomb of the whatcha'ma'callit (which received a sleepy man in the Chronicle today). Brendan Fraiser looked okay, but really it was Maria who was dressed to the nines: white collar showing just beyond her deep blue jacket dress and heels ~ she was smoking! Brendan on the other hand sat on a chair up against the wall gazing at his phone non-stop ~ no one is sure if it was even on.....

**************

Sunday was quite in comparison to the rest of the weekend and sadly NPH couldn't make it to the Harold & Kumar DVD panel so really there wasn't anyone on my must see list although there were some crazy screaming women for the Smallville & Supernatural cast... Whew thank goodness it's over!

Comic Con San Diego.....

Note: this picture must be old.... there isn't nearly that much
open space on the Exhibitor Floor at any given moment.
UPDATE: so I was informed by someone who'd know this - this is NOT San Diego's Comic Con.... but whatever it's still funny & true for the Fan Boy or Girl out there...

Everything & Nothing

Everything is so crazy.... next week is the busiest week I'll have this summer and I'm not even getting paid for it. But anyway, I've been able to fit in a few must do's before heading out. Last weekend was the get over the cold weekend but I made time for both Hellboy II & Wanted: Enjoyed them both!

Then it was a normal week at work.... which included a Play: Doubt & a board meeting - which turned into a brainstorming meeting of two since we were short three other members due to unforeseen reasons (wow, doesn't that sound official?). The week ended with seeing The Dark Knight in the afternoon on Saturday. The movie was really good! My knowledge of Batman is pretty much the TV shows and movies, though I am aware now of the comics/now graphic novels that show a much darker Batman ~ hence the movies now with Christian Bale.

Of course *they* say that many people may see Dark Knight due to the desire to see what is possibly Heath Ledgers final performance (I write possibly because there's no word on what's going to happen w/ The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus). But is that a bad thing? Not sure. It'd be even better if the unknown *they* also chose to go watch Heath's other films including Brokeback Mountain as that was a fantastic movie. As the Joker, Heath plays a very complex anarchist Joker with no real goal other than to watch the world burn.... I really liked the whole movie and all the characters though The Joker is the real star, I was especially happy to see Maggie Gyllenhal as Rachel Dawes (much better option than Katie Holms was). This year is full of Best Comic Book Movies ever... well, I think this the The Best of the Best of them!

On a different note, there were some good movie trailers that I've seen over the last couple weeks. First, I am really interested in Blindness - with Julianne More, it looks pretty intense. The Watchmen trailer looks amazing and there is still time for me to learn more about what it's all about! Daniel Craig has taken on the 007 role and I think he's GREAT at it! Can't wait for the Quantum of Solace to release.

Sick Day....

Don't ya hate it when you actually end up taking a sick day from work because you are actually sick?! That's me today. Drinking lots of water and slept and relaxed all day. I powered through Monday so today I could get over this darn cold in a day.... The most sad thing about being home all day is that there really isn't a damn thing on TV!

Anyhoo, now that I'm feeling a bit better I thought I'd spend a bit of time here. Last weekend was the 4th of July holiday and it was full of time spent with family, friends and the movie theater. The two movies I caught this weekend was Get Smart & Wall*E.

Get Smart was enjoyable. I did watch the original shows but not religiously and I haven't seen them in a long, long time. Carell's Maxwell Smart was fun to watch and while he was a accident waiting to happen this time the character wasn't quite as clumsy as in the original shows ~ in the original shows it was his bumbling that saved the day. I believe that Carell didn't watch the originals TV show but that Anne Hathaway did. And while we are on the topic of Anne: talk about hot, that girl is HOT! I remember seeing her in person at WonderCon and she was very pretty in person and according to Jake she's nice too. All in all I enjoyed the movie!

Wall*E the newest Pixar film was made here locally in the Bay Area. The original plan was to go on Saturday night with some friends but we had to change the plan around to Sunday afternoon instead.... Before going to the movie on Sunday I talked with my mom who had seen the film the the day before. My mom immediately said don't bother, it's depressing and kids won't understand the story. Hmmmm should I have decided not to go? Hell no!

I didn't tell my friends about my moms mini review and we went to the movie theater. The short: Presto, was fantastic! Just so great! Cute Bunny named Alex and the magician who I think will take a bit more time to feed the bunny before showtime.

Pixar did it again for me. Wall*E is a sweet film. I'm not going to tell you anything new ~unless you haven't read one single review yet. I really enjoyed the first bit on earth learning and watching Wall*E go about his normal day finding trinkets that catch his eye... EVE, the iPod looking robot, arrives and changes everything. Seeing how people are living 700 years in the future is a bit depressing as is the trash left on earth (and around earth for that matter). Wall*E is the hope that everyone needs and in the end (moral alert) people make the right choice..... ~ Big Smiles Around ~

So later that day I stoped by my folks for a quick visit and we discussed the movie - she still had the same view point... and that's okay. I see the film as a love story set in a time that has moral aspects to it. Wall*E himself is beyond adorable and I left with a nice feeling about the story regardless if there was a we are killing the world with our trash theme.....
